SKI AND SEA
Pioneers making OS&E consistency simple and repeatable.
Brand Refresh and Visual Identity

SkiandSea are pioneers in housewares supply management and Operating Supplies & Equipment (OS&E). They invented the "room in a box" model which has come to provide organization as a service to their clients providing peace of mind and quality of product.

But what comes next for an industry leader after 55+ years? To answer that question the brand needed to catch up to mirror the quality of service offered from the company.

Discovery efforts brought to light the strengths and superpowers, archetype (Creator/Hero if you're curious), and other attributed and definitions including: brand character.

Yes the SkiandSea brand's character is none other than Peyton Manning; he's dependable, a local legend, proven and repeatable success, genuine, and able to leverage legacy into future growth.

This new visual identity is smart, clean, confident, and innovative. Everything one would need from a product is now found in this brand's presence.

A fleshed out voice, tone, and brand promise completed our "why."
You design impeccable guest experiences. We deliver the meticulous details that provide peace of mind.

After getting my arms around the "why and what", I set to task thumbnailing, researching, Pintrest-ing, (best place to find things for inpso IMO), and mood boarding directions for the brand’s look and feel.
The biggest question: keep the logo contained and allude the legacy of the brand mark? Or, break it out of the literal and metaphorical box.

Check out where it started...

...and some of the versions that didn't make the cut below.

The final mark reflects the simplification of the process, a balance between internal and external teams and logistics, and a look far elevated beyond competitors once again propelling these pioneers forward.
The symbol, a star, a nod not only to guide seekers toward the right direction but also an easter egg found within each of Dahlgren Duck’s Family of Brands marks.

To accompany the new logo and symbol is a refreshed color palette; sets of step and repeat patterns, symbols morphing from the idea of "what can be placed in a box," and a pattern system no one could mistake for anything else but SkiandSea.

To aid in this new brand messaging and design system a robust guide was created to allow anyone to use elements, choose photography, and craft sales scripts.

I also had the opportunity to craft and create a handful of motion assets to reintroduce the brand on social channels.
